Metts has been at Reaction MMA ever since it opened its doors, fine-tuning his boxing and earning his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt from UFC and Strikeforce veteran Jorge Gurgel.
I started working out with Rob and eventually began boxing in his garage. At this point, he was training for a fight and I would grapple with him. After learning how to box under Rob, the competitive side of me wanted to compete, so I began sparring and preparing for my own fight.
His athletic ability and competitive desire truly began to shine when he had his first mixed martial arts bout. After going undefeated as an amateur and picking up notable wins over David Suter (6-1) and Michael Morelli (5-2), Metts blasted onto the professional scene with a first round submission victory over Jason Keen.
