Dan Christison

Dan Christison (20-7) has made a name for himself both as a professional mixed martial artist and a top-notch trainer at his own school, The Sandbox MMA. Sporting a professional MMA record of 20-7, Dan most recently defeated Mike Wessel via kimura in the third round at Canadian Fighting Championship 4 on February 26, 2010.

Dan Christison is a third generation martial artist who grew up believing martial arts training was a part of everyone’s every day life. Dan began fighting Mixed Martial Arts in the Fall of 2001. He has since went on to fight 26 MMA matches with 19 wins and 7 losses. Dan has won 11 of his last 12 fights. Dan has fought in various organizations from local shows such as Intimidation Cage Fighting to the UFC to International organizations such as the Canadian Fighting Championship. Dan was also a cast member of The Ultimate Fighter Season II.

Dan has studied various forms of martial arts over the years but fell in love with art of submission fighting. Dan is a black belt in Gaidojutsu under Greg Jackson of Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is currently working toward his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has had the opportunity to train with some of MMA’s legends such as Randy Couture and Frank Shamrock.

Dan resides in Dale, Indiana with his wife, Kyria, step-daughter, Kailee and their two dogs, Avery and Coal. Dan is a member of the Dale Police Department and works for Jasper Engines in Jasper, Indiana along with teaching at his school The Sandbox.

Dan moved to Southern Indiana in the Spring of 2007. He moved from one of the most well known schools in MMA, Jackson’s in Albuquerque, New Mexcio to a small town here in Indiana. Dan did not have the luxury of having several coaches and a lot of training partners under one roof so we set out to find the best to work with in this area. We found them and we work together toward one goal, sharing knowledge and skill for not just the growth of the individual but the group as a whole.

Matt Kitterman who is a Pro Heavyweight Boxer with an undefeated record and a very well rounded martial artist. Matt teaches out of the Battleground in Corydon Indiana which is located at the Gerdon Youth Center, 812-738-1696

Pat McPherson who is the head coach at Integrated Fighting Systems in Indianapolis, Indiana. Pat is a boxer who studies BJJ, Judo along with other martial arts. Pat trains such fighters as, Jake O’Brien, Chris “Lights Out” Lytle, Shamar Bailey, Jeremy Bolt, Matt Mitrione, Johnny Rees, Orville Smith. Pat is a boxer who studies BJJ, Judo along with other martial arts.

Irish Jake O’Brien is a pro MMA fighter who fights as a heavy and light heavyweight and trains out of Integrated Fighting Systems in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jake attended Franklin Central High School where he wrestled for four years, while earning IHSAA 215 lb. State Champion honors three years in a row from 2000-2003; holding a record of 125-4 over that time. O’Brien also attended Purdue University where he wrestled for two years, one year as starting heavyweight.
