The Matthew Wellington Group LLC is an MMA management firm dedicated to the development of professional and amateur mixed martial artists. Co-Founded by Brian Furby and Lee Jacobs, the MWG partners combine a legal and business background with a vast knowledge of MMA.
MWG takes a personal approach to each client, and every client receives the same exemplary level of service, whether it be an amateur or professional fighter, an MMA promotion, or one of our corporate clients.
We are here to give fighters the help they need. Whether that is finding fights, sponsorships, arranging for training, or publicity and public relations, we are here for you. In addition to the legal and business knowledge we bring to the table, we have access to experts in the fields of MMA training and instruction in a number of individual martial arts, strength and conditioning, nutrition and supplement usage, financial advising, and combat sport psychology.

Brian Furby, President of MWG, is an attorney and writer with Pro MMA Now, where he also hosts The Cageside Beat, the official radio show of Pro MMA Now. Brian is a lifelong fan of martial arts and has been hooked on mixed martial arts since UFC 1. Formerly a writer with FightTicker.com, Brian initially helped arrange sponsorships for a few fighters on an informal basis. Wanting to combine his legal knowledge and love for MMA, Brian sat down with Lee, who had recently approached him with some legal questions related to MMA management, and the pair decided to take their involvement in MMA to the next level.

Lee Jacobs, Vice President of MWG, has an educational background in business management and marketing, and in addition to his duties with MWG, is currently pursuing another degree, this time in medicine. Also a lifelong fan of martial arts, Lee has most recently trained with a Team Jorge Gurgel affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky. Lee briefly wrote for FightTicker.com, and has experience as a cornerman, and in MMA promotion with friend and MWG client Steve Keaton.

Paul “San San” Tedjosukmono, Sponsor Liaison, also known as “The Contact King”. Due to his tireless efforts and unparalleled work ethic, San San has compiled the single largest database of contacts in the MMA world, spanning numerous popular sponsors, promoters, and individuals. Having aided Brian Furby as a Guest Bookings Contributor with The Cageside Beat, San San now bring his expertise to The Matthew Wellington Group as a Sponsor Liaison. San San will be responsible for the scouting of potential sponsors and adding of new sponsors to MWG’s ever-expanding base of premier companies.

John Buhl, Communications Director, has worked as a professional reporter since 2005, interviewing some of the biggest names in the sport of mixed martial arts and having his work published on several prominent websites, including FoxSports.com. With his experience, he handles media strategies and press relations for MWG and its clients. He also co-hosts the MMA Outsider podcast, which is currently hosted at ProMMAnow.com.
