Josh “The Pitbull” Cooper (1-0 pro 7-2 am) will make his return to the cage on May 15, 2010 at Applebee’s Park in Lexington, KY for Last Man Standing: Bluegrass Bragging Rights. After a successful pro debut win over Adam Mays, Josh looks to improve on his new pro record.

Cooper, who held amateur belts in two separate weight classes, trains out of Reaction MMA in Lexington, KY under the tutelage of Rob Nickerson and Submit Pit in Somerset, KY under the instruction of Darrin Durham. Josh got into mixed martial arts simply because he wanted to try it. After agreeing with a friend that one of them would do it if the other one did, Josh was able to put together a solid amateur record throughout Kentucky on his way to making his professional debut with the Spartan Fighting Championships in Ashland, KY.
Cooper describes his career in MMA so far as “It’s fun. It went from something to try to being a goal and a challenge. Once I complete a goal or a challenge, I move on to a harder one, so it motivates me to complete my goals.”

In addition to counting professional fighters Anderson Silva, BJ Penn, and Randy Couture among his favorites, Cooper also looks up to training partner and fellow MWG client Julio Gallegos.
